Commercial Fiber Optic Technician – NETcom Cabling
NETcom Cabling is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Commercial Fiber Optic Technician to join our growing team in Greensboro, NC. The role focuses on hands-on fiber optic splicing, testing, and certification, delivering precise and efficient work. Ideal candidates are self-motivated professionals who take pride in quality craftsmanship and can work independently and collaboratively to ensure top-tier installations and service.
Pay Range : $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fusion splicing of single fiber and ribbon fiber optic cables.
- Read and interpret OTDR test results and operate fiber optic certifiers with accuracy.
- Prep and splice cassettes and ribbon cables per project specifications.
- Conduct fiber terminations, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed, accurate project documentation and labeling.
- Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and best practices.
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines and exceed quality expectations.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Commercial Fiber Optic Technician.Proficient in fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and certification processes.Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.Clean background check required to obtain NC Alarm Registration.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided).BICSI and / or Corning Certifications are a strong plus.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Benefits
