The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking an Hourly / PRN Staff Nurse (10-20 hours per week) to work at our UICC Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN), Cedar Rapids . This position will mainly support our Cedar Rapids OBGYN Clinic but could float to other patient specialties / clinic locations including but not limited to : Specialty / Outreach, Family Medicine, and / or Pediatrics.
Our staff nurses develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient.

duties to include :
- Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
- Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
- Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
- Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents / reports interventions and patient / family response.
- Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.
- Develops, coordinates and implements transfer / discharge planning throughout episode of care.
- Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and / or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.

Location : Cedar Rapids, IA (and surrounding clinics based on clinical needs)
Pay Grade : 52
Salary : $27.69 up to $50.79
Qualifications
Education – An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN), Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN / Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.Required Qualifications – Current license to practice in the state of Iowa by the time of hire; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients / families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members; general computer skills; Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.Special Qualifications – Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards; demonstrated excellent written / verbal communication.Highly Desirable Qualifications – Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy; minimum 6 months – 1 year of OBGYN experience; EPIC experience; ability to foster a welcoming and respectful work / academic environment; experience working autonomously.Desirable Qualifications – Active enrollment in a BSN program if not yet obtained; OBGYN knowledge; prior ambulatory experience.To be considered, applicants must send a resume that clearly addresses how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.
