THE POSITION

Wernersville State Hospital is seeking a Staff Physician 2 to provide leadership in planning, directing, and implementing medical services at our facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to deliver medical care to the patients of Wernersville State Hospital. Your work will involve treating physically ill patients and performing various medical tasks. This will include conducting annual physical and neurological examinations for patients in your designated area. You also will identify medical treatment requirements of patients and facilitate their transfer to community hospitals for emergency or non-emergency medical treatment. It will also be your duty to ensure the Psychiatrist and Treatment Team are informed of patients with medical illnesses and their ongoing treatment. Additionally, you will attend medical staff and hospital committee meetings and participate in committee work as assigned.
