An Environmental Laboratory Analyst is responsible for testing environmental samples to determine the presence of pollutants and other contaminants. They analyze samples using specialized equipment and techniques, playing a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze various types of samples, including process water, coal, fuel oil, and compliance water samples.
Maintain accurate records, permits, and documentation required for environmental compliance and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Environmental Sciences.
Several years of experience performing laboratory analysis; familiarity with EPA methods or environmental testing is a plus.
Proficiency with laboratory testing equipment and adherence to safe laboratory practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information and compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills to address complex issues and recommend innovative solutions.
High level of accuracy in documenting environmental data and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve environmental objectives.
Strong analytical thinking to interpret environmental data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
