Position Summary

Calvary Day School is seeking a CDL driver with Passenger endorsement to support our needs for our regular route bus, field trips and extracurricular trips during the school day, afternoons and evenings, and on some occasional weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities as CDL Driver :

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance; work hours may vary during the school year.
• Has the ability to drive any make and model bus in the transportation fleet.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip safety inspections and ensure the bus stays clean and mechanically sound.
• Operates school bus by the laws of Georgia and follows the policies prescribed by the School under all types of weather conditions including, but not limited to, sun, fog, rain, sleet, hail, snow, and ice.
• Operates bus safely without violations or warning citation from state or local law enforcement.
• Monitors communication devices for essential and emergency transmissions only.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as needed.
• Report delays, accidents, and unusual situations to the Fleet Manager or parent group.
• Maintains cordial relations with parents, administrators, other employees, and the general public.
• Maintains student discipline on the bus and refers serious infractions to Coach or division AHOS.
• Collects, keeps, and periodically updates emergency information and is aware of students' medical needs reported by parents / guardians / school staff.
• Attends required training meetings, Orientation, State Safety meetings, and all other meetings as requested.
• Dresses in professional, proper attire.
