What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer to contribute to the continuous improvement of Manufacturing Test Equipment for our Energy Remanufacturing team in Buffalo, NY. Primarily, they will aid in the improvement, optimization, and maintenance of test equipment for the Supercharging, Industrial, and Residential Energy lines. Additional responsibilities include supporting test equipment debugging tasks, continuous improvement of legacy test equipment, and supporting handover of new test equipment from the manufacturing development team. What You'll Do
- Maintain LabVIEW, Python, TestStand, and Golang production test software
- Generate user interfaces (GUIs) and troubleshooting tools to improve diagnostic capabilities of existing production test software
- Optimize automated processes to minimize cycle time and maximize uptime
- Validate processes using data-driven statistical approaches (such as Gage R&R, and Cpk)
- Design and develop industrial electrical control panels compliant with NFPA79 / NEC / UL508A, and create electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics
- Develop tests according to procedures and specifications for both new and remanufactured components
- Provide on-site support for test equipment deployment
- Create troubleshooting and maintenance documentation for testers
- Collaborate with technicians to acquire new instruments and build fixtures to verify correct operation of factory test equipment
What You'll Bring
