Administrative Associate 1-NE
The Administrative Associate provides a high level of administrative support to the Chair of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering located in Columbus; this position will be responsible for maintaining appointment calendar requiring independent decision-making in coordination of Chair's daily activities; prepares agendas and arranges meetings; assists and supports Chair in providing effective communication for the department; responds to and composes correspondence for the Chair; handles confidential matters professionally and appropriately; arranges and processes travel requests and reimbursements (Workday); processes and manages reimbursements and PCard expense reports (Workday), arranges for guest's travel and lodging (Workday); maintains area office supplies; oversees collection and organization of faculty promotion and tenure documents / activities; assists with faculty and staff searches / recruitment and interviews; keeps and maintains faculty CVs; prepares administrative reports (program review self-studies, academic accreditation self-studies, strategic plans, Pattern of Administration and Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure documents, annual departmental review reports, annual academic review reports, etc.) requiring thorough knowledge of university and departmental policies and programs; manages faculty and staff performance evaluations (self-reviews, accomplishments, publications, grants, awards, Student Evaluation of Instruction, Evaluation of Effective Extension Teaching, performance evaluation letters, etc.); works productively as a team member; and performs related and / or additional job duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Required Qualifications : A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent experience; considerable experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel); excellent verbal and written communication skills; and ability to multi-task.
Desired Qualifications : Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures, including expenditure policies, procurement and travel (utilizing Workday); strong problem solving skills; 2-5 years experience in an Ohio State University administrative / fiscal capacity. In accordance with the disaster preparedness and university state of emergency policy 6.17 this position has been designated as a standby position.
Pay range : $24.76 - $32.33 / hr. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
