Responsibilities And Duties
- Collaborate with sales management to develop client prospect lists based upon targeted specialty equipment offerings and their potential within various market segments.
- Travel within the assigned territory making customer visits and building relationships to strengthen partnerships between entities.
- Effectively present at customer's locations displaying the benefits and capabilities of our equipment and our company through walkarounds, demonstration start-ups, and any additional methods needed.
- Maintain call schedules, prepare quotes and sales orders in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Follow up on all leads, contract lettings and inquiries; and follow through on all potential sales deals.
- Ensure that equipment is delivered correctly as agreed and meets all the conditions of the sale; act to render prompt service in case of any deficiencies.
- Participate in available training opportunities and engage in self-guided learning to constantly expand knowledge, awareness, and competency of our products and offerings.
- Attend pertinent tradeshows that connect our specialty equipment offering with targeted and potential end user market segments.
- Maintain required communications; advise superiors of all changes in their territory which can affect company success.
- Determine needs of new prospects; point out the benefits of the equipment and emphasize the advantages of dealing with the company.
- Help customers solve problems, provide technical assistance as needed, keep customers up to date on new developments.
- Keep informed on new contracts and opportunities; settle complaints, establish, and maintain personal relations with customers.
- Utilize marketing department to grow customer engagement through market research data and effective usage of multiple media platforms.
- Communicate with all departments to best explain our customers' expectations of support in relation to our specialty equipment lineup.
- Controls travel, telephone, and entertainment expenses and are responsible for keeping accurate expense records and submitting them in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience including 2-year technical degree in related field.Must possess exemplary selling skills; 2 years' experience in sales, service, or product support preferred.Background in aggregate and / or construction equipment is highly recommended but not required.Must have valid driver's license, with clean driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL, preferred prior obtainment. Must be capable of safely towing small construction equipment on a trailer.High proficiency in customer relationship skills.Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.Computer skills need to be broad based.Must be able to travel and stay overnight as required.Must be available outside of normal business hours to accept customer phone calls for assistance.Strong reading comprehension skills- analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical manuals, and governmental regulations.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public.Mathematical skills- ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to utilize basic concepts of algebra, statistics, and geometry.Problem solving skills- must be able to reason through variables and utilize experience and expertise to solve practical problems in real-world situations.Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The candidate must be able to quickly and frequently transition between indoor office / business / driving environments and an outdoor construction environment with exposure to seasonal elements and hazards.The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to operate and manipulate tools, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to sit.The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.The employee will be required to display the ability to enter, exit, operate, and transport equipment safely.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close / far vision, and color vision.Seniority level
