Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager for Design is accountable for the performance and results of large / complex design projects for Stanford Medicine Children’s Health under the general supervision of the Director for Design. Responsible for the programming, planning, and design of large projects, ensuring completion within budget, on schedule, and meeting all program objectives and applicable government regulations. Acts as a liaison between the client / users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies. Responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the work of project participants and assigned project managers.

• Lead a large project team of professionals, including performance, cost, and financial accountability. Document and manage current state, future state and gap analysis for process improvement and workflows.
• Approve and execute improvements to operating policies and procedures, guidelines, and standards for teams. Identify and drive business, product, service and process improvements; may act as a department representative on committees and professional organizations.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure project compliance with department, hospital, and university policies, government codes and regulations; ensure conformance to all project participants’ requirements.
• Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems; communicate status, problems, and required actions to project participants.
• Oversee selection process and contract negotiations for consultants, contractors, and vendors. Define project scope and program, including user needs and hospital / external criteria for safety, quality, energy efficiency, and aesthetics.
• Administer contract terms with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, cost and performance.
• Monitor and enforce contract deliverables; review invoices and verify accuracy against contracts and purchase orders; investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain project records / files and cost estimates; ensure space inventory reports are complete.
• Provide leadership and coordination across teams supporting the project; build consensus.
• Manage the review and approval process for design work from schematic studies through construction documents and related changes, including budgets.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, including any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline / field from an accredited college or university.

Experience : Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Licensure / Certification : None Required.

Additional Information

Pay Range : Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within ranges may be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role and market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range. Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly) : $85.32 to $116.67.
