We are seeking a Junior Research Scientist that is ready to leverage their research and technology experience in a dynamic and collaborative workplace environment.
The Junior Research Scientist is responsible for conducting fundamental research in the investigation of new technologies under the guidance of experienced scientists. They may also serve as a technical lead during product development.
This position will be required to work out of the Schaumburg, IL office.
Salary range : $58k to $68k commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities of this Junior Research Scientist may include, but are not limited to :
Product Development (PD)Serve as a technical representative on PD projects
Serve as an independent technical reviewer on other PD projects by confirming performance (technical) requirementsTechnology Development (TD)Assess current dental technologies and generate new ideas to present to Company leadership under supervision
Lead TD projects toward the investigation and development of new technologies or product concepts under supervisionConduct fundamental research including synthesis of new organic and inorganic dental materials under supervisionOperate and analyze data from laboratory equipment within mechanical, rheometry, microscopy, spectroscopy, and other relevant dental-specific testingTechnical SupportProvide scientific support and conduct testing for existing products and competitor products
Serve as technical lead on investigations for product nonconformitiesServe as technical lead on design change projectsServe as liaison with external contract research organizationsParticipate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiativesComply and support BISCO’s HSE protocols and procedures. Identify problems and suggest improvements to HSE issues.QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences (preferably chemistry).No formal work experience required but relevant class and laboratory experience preferredGeneral computer skills (Windows) and proficiency in MS Office applications.Technical report writing ability.Excellent communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and do not now, and will not in the future, require sponsorship for employment visa status to work for our company.WHY BISCO, INC.?
