PROCESS ENGINEER / CONVERTING MANAGER

Responsibilities

• Manage converting department operations. Oversee the daily function, staffing, safety, and output of the product conversion area.
• Determine manufacturing processes and cost out new products. Develop initial production methods and calculate the total cost of goods sold (COGS) for new items.
• Order and manage tooling and equipment. Procure necessary molds, jigs, fixtures, and machinery for new and existing production lines.
• Write detailed manufacturing specifications. Create precise, step-by-step documentation (e.g., work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), process flow diagrams) to ensure consistent product build quality.
• Improve efficiency and reduce cost for current products. Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste (time, materials), and implement lean principles to lower unit costs.
