Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with at least 1 year of acute care experience, ARDMS and RVT certification, and proficiency in OB and arterial extremity Doppler studies.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care radiology department on the Ultrasound unit
  • General, OB, small parts, and vascular ultrasound studies performed with focus on upper and lower venous and arterial exams
  • Department is equipped with 3 Siemens S2000 ultrasound scanners
  • Average of 35 ultrasound studies performed per day
  • Shifts are 12 hours with available start times of 6-6, 7-7, or 8-8, and weekends scheduled every other weekend
  • Staff follows a 2,2,3 shift rotation between two teams
  • No floating to other departments required
  • EMR is Cerner Soarian (Community Works); PACS used is Intellirad / Intelliconnect
  • Five-shift orientation provided with a preceptor
  • Radiologist is on-site until 5pm and on-call after hours, with Vrad covering overnight
  • May wear any clean, professional scrubs; matching Emerald Green scrubs are optional
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Holiday rotation may be required
  • No call or standby is required for this position
  • Must disclose any background concerns prior to consideration
  • Travelers are not eligible if they have worked at any WVU Medicine facility within the last 2 years
  • Travelers cannot work within WVU Medicine for longer than one year; a two-year break is required after reaching the year limit
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Sonographer experience in an acute care setting
  • Certification through ARDMS and / or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) via ARDMS
  • Active BLS certification required
  • WV Sonography license required if applicable
  • OB and arterial extremity Doppler ultrasound experience required
  • Must be able to start IVs if needed
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • WV CARES screening required prior to start
