Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our behavioral health team. This role offers flexibility with remote and hybrid opportunities. The NP will provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support patients’ mental health and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments, psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning in accordance with professional standards and state regulations.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.

Deliver psychiatric health services, counseling, patient education, and emotional support.

Refer patients for inpatient care in collaboration with the supervising psychiatrist, when necessary.

Prescribe medications in accordance with treatment guidelines and best practices.

Order and interpret laboratory tests, explaining results and treatment implications to patients.

Educate patients and families regarding medication use, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.

Provide follow-up care and ongoing communication with patients.

May provide primary medical care services as appropriate under licensure regulations.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric / Mental Health specialization from an accredited institution.

Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in New York State.

Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric / behavioral health settings.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work 25+ hours per week.
