Shift / Hours : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 am-5 : 00 pm

Pay Rate : $30-$45 per hour

Location : San Jose, CA

Experience : At least 1 year of Drafter experience in the Sheet Metal Industry

Drafter Job Duties include :

Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings of sheet metal components, assemblies, and products, ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and project requirements.

Interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and specifications to translate design concepts into clear and concise manufacturing plans.

Create and maintain a comprehensive library of standard parts and components to streamline the drafting process and ensure consistency across projects.

Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot design issues, implement design changes, and optimize designs for efficient and cost-effective fabrication.

Perform quality checks and revisions on existing drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with updated project specifications or customer feedback.

Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and cutting lists from CAD models to assist with material procurement and production scheduling.

Drafter Preferred Skills include :

In-depth knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, cutting, welding, and finishing.

Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Must have 1 year of previous work experience

Drafter Requirements may include :

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 2 years of professional drafting experience, specifically within the sheet metal, HVAC, or related manufacturing industry.

Proven proficiency in CAD software (., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) with a strong portfolio showcasing sheet metal design work.

Comprehensive understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, forming, and welding.

Excellent technical and spatial reasoning skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Must provide 3 professional references
