Utility Drivers are responsible for servicing customers with the collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant. This position operates various types of trucks, often filling in for other drivers. Utility Drivers will service many different routes in various areas.
Responsibilities of Position :
- Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers, in a safe and compliant way, by emptying trash / recycling containers into truck and hauling to disposal site
- Operate various types of trucks and / or complete various routes
- Routinely enter / exit the truck approximately 300-500 times per day, depending on the assigned route
- Pick up missed stops and / or routes as needed
- Deliver trash / recycling containers as needed
- Replace trash / recycling containers neatly at the curb or designated area
- Clean up waste spills and overflows
- Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body and ensure cleanliness of truck cab
- Maintain and update route & driver log sheets
- Conduct pre-trip / post trip inspections and complete logs
- Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum 1-2 years CDL truck driving experienceWaste industry experience, a plusPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday :
Frequently lifting / carrying a max of 75 lbsContinuously pushing / pulling a max of 75 lbsRarely lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling a max of 100 lbsContinuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet / humid conditionsContinuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matterFrequently stooping / kneeling / crouching / crawlingFrequently climbing and / or balancingFrequently sitting / standing / walking in an office environmentAdditional Working Conditions / Aspects :
