Transportation Coordinator
Coordinates the scheduling and facilitates outbound customer shipments from various distribution centers within Newell Brand's Outdoor & Recreation division. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners involved in the logistical fulfillment process to ensure timely delivery of goods via sound carrier selection and scheduling strategies.
Major Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
Scheduling :
- Partners with Newell Routing teams to analyze shipments based on customers must ship by dates, meeting customer delivery requirements while maintaining appropriate workload levels within the warehouse(s)
- Schedule outbound shipments for all incoterms and modes of transportation to ensure on time shipments
- Create, run, and analyze shipment status reports to ensure timely shipment progression
- Communicate and escalate issues with internal routing teams, third party routing partners and management team to resolve discrepancies
- Strategically schedules shipments to balance each shipping point's constraints and limitations to meet each Distribution Center load balancing on outbound doors
Dispatch :
Ensures proper execution of various traffic and warehouse processes for timely and accurate invoicing to customerEnsures accurate completion of all carrier paperworkAssists drivers, warehouse personnel and security as needed with check in, shipping paperwork and check outEnsures DOT HazMat certification verification for all carriers hauling any HazMat loads is current and recorded as requiredAdministers shipping outputs to support outbound shipmentsSupports and backs up other Traffic roles within the departmentAdministers return authorizations and carrier claims in Newell portalsCarrier Management :
Manage carrier trailer inventory spotted on Company's warehouse yards for accuracyCommunicates with carriers and follows up with all interested parties regarding special needs, carrier issues, rush, or critical shipments for delivery to customerFollows up with customers and / or carriers regarding appointment scheduling, appointment reschedules, or carrier no-showsDocuments carrier performance issues in ERM tool to dispute any chargebacks and penaltiesProblem solves in a demanding environment as logistical and carrier issues ariseInvestigate to determine root cause and make appropriate decisions to resolveAssists in on-boarding new carriers as to Company expectations, procedures and policies and monitors performanceFacilitates drop trailer management internally and with external customersNotify customer or carrier of drop trailer turns and empties needed to support outbound operationsKnowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements :
