The Pennsylvania Treasury Department has an exciting opportunity for a new or experienced attorney seeking a career opportunity in the fields of contract, investment management, program administration, and administrative law. Offering a manageable and predictable work / life balance, Treasury is seeking an attorney to complement its Office of Chief Counsel team.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone seeking a dynamic legal career in a prominent state financial office. The position's established hours make it particularly suitable for a working parent, caregiver, or someone starting a family and may be seeking a position with predictable time demands. The Office of Chief Counsel is the in-house legal representative and advisor for entire Department and the State Treasurer, an independently elected statewide constitutional officer. The Office of Chief Counsel includes four attorneys, two internal investigators, and the Bureau of Internal Audits. The Office of Chief Counsel also administratively oversees the Board of Finance and Revenue and the tax attorneys that work within that office.
The Pennsylvania Treasury Department is an independent agency led by the elected State Treasurer and one of the largest state treasuries in the country, serving as custodian of more than $150 billion. Treasury plays a critical role in state government operations, acting as the custodian, investor, and disburser of funds for nearly all state agencies. Treasury also offers a wide range of programs and services to Pennsylvania families, including the PA 529 College and Career Savings Program; the PA ABLE Savings Program for people with disabilities; and our work to return more than $4 billion of Unclaimed Property to its rightful owners.
