Senior Manager Of Transportation Strategy & Development
The Senior Manager Of Transportation Strategy & Development is responsible for leading the design and execution of the company's transportation strategy. This role will drive the development of organizational structures, processes, capabilities, and ways of working that deliver sustainable cost efficiency while achieving required service levels. Serving as a transformational leader, this individual will champion innovation and ensure that transportation solutions are aligned with broader business objectives. The scope spans all modes of transportationincluding over-the-road, ocean, bulk, and railboth domestically and internationally. Additionally, the role will be accountable for optimizing the balance between leveraging external carriers and 3PL providers versus making direct internal investments.
Responsibilities include :
- Develop and implement long-term transportation strategies that align with overall supply chain and company objectives, driving new projects, technologies, capabilities, and processes to optimize transportation costs while ensuring the required service levels.
- Partner with senior leaders to identify future capability needs and develop business cases and project plans to close any gaps.
- Lead Logistics development projects and represent Logistics in the end-to-end transformational projects, including network design and cost to serve.
- Evaluate current Logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation and digitalization, including AI.
- Manage relationships with Logistics technology partners, identifying emerging technologies and digital solutions, securing the deployment of required Logistics capabilities.
- Identify skill development needs and implement a plan to strengthen at least one skill set annually. Ensure direct reports receive constructive performance feedback and have actionable development plans in place.
- Utilize My Career to determine training needs and identify curriculum, programs and content to prepare for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding learning opportunities.
- Maintain a high level of organization, productivity, and effectiveness by leveraging the PPT system to enhance planning and organization and using KPIs to drive focus on the right activities.
Qualifications required :
10+ years relevant experience (minimum)5+ years supervisory experienceBachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or industrial engineeringRelevant experience in same or equivalent roles in in cpg, beverage or automotive industryExperience with leading logistics systems such as tms, track and trace and others.Ability to communicate with all levels of an orgAbility to quickly learn new systems / processesExcellent oral & written communication skillsStrong analytical and technical skillsDetail orientedStrong planning and organizational skillsRecord of successful leadershipExceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex environmental concepts to diverse audiences.Proven team building capabilities / strong cross-functional teammate, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at one timeBreakthrough thinkingPreferred qualifications :
