Responsibilities Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC / Stepdown / PCU) unit of an acute care hospital Day shift with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options, 6 : 45-19 : 15 Care for patients requiring telemetry, neuro stepdown, post-cardiac and post-neurosurgical management Every other weekend work required Floating to other units or affiliate hospitals is required as needed Cerner is used for charting; prior Cerner experience preferred Level I trauma center and Magnet facility Provide specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and trauma cases Team support in a large, 562-bed hospital with teaching and Level I trauma resources First time travelers are not accepted for this position Scrub color is any solid color Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment No mileage radius restriction for local candidates Parking permit provided at no cost Up to 5 days of non-holiday time off is permitted without facility approval All required onboarding modules must be completed virtually on the first day Requirements Active IL RN license required at time of application Minimum 1 year of recent IMC / Stepdown / PCU / Telemetry nursing experience required Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias required Competence in neuro, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, and plastic surgery cases relevant to IMC Certifications required : BLS and NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI not accepted); ACLS preferred Experience with rapid response teams, wound care, wound vac, and isolation precautions required Must be able to interpret and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as indicated Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee of the facility within the previous 12 months Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620226.
