• \n\nLocation : University of Oklahoma Medical Center\n\nShift : Full time , 9a-9p & 11a-11p\n\nRN I represents the nurse who is a novice or an advanced beginner advancing to competent. While advancing from novice to competent, the nurse relies on rules rather than principles which are independent of specific situations. The advanced beginner may have enough real experience to begin to formulate principles.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n
• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.\n
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.\n
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician order on assigned patients.\n
• Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.\n
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary.\n
• Administers medication as prescribed.\n
• Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.\n
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.\n
• Resolves patient complaints in a timely manner in accordance with policy and in collaboration with support staff.\n
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures and shares care plan during the time of care and at the time of discharge.\n
• Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.\n
• Fosters a growth mindset through seeking mentorship, remaining open to coaching and feedback, and maintaining professional certification(s) / licensure in order to perpetually develop and uphold the skills required for proficiency within the nursing profession.\n
• Develops a professional career plan and establishes personal, performance goals in alignment with enterprise-wide metrics, frequently measuring progress with department leadership.\n

• Performs other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nEducation : Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.\n\nExperience : 0-3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse.\n\nLicense / Certification / Registration : \n
• Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).\n
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.\n\nMinimum Qualifications (RN II) : \n\nEducation : Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.\n\nExperience : 3-5 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse. Patient care experience must be obtained in the care area applied for.\n\nLicense(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : \n
• Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).\n
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.\n
• Minimum Qualifications (RN III) : \n\nEducation : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.\n\nExperience : 5+ years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse. Patient care experience must be obtained in the care area applied for.\n\nLicense(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : \n
• Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).\n
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities : \n

• Performs other duties as assigned\n\nMinimum Qualifications : \n\nEducation : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred\n\nExperience : May require completion of orientation and ability to function independently in assigned specialty area prior to being assigned to this position\n\nLicense(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire. PALS (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities : \n\nKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
