Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring telemetry skills and an AZ or compact license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
  • Night shift schedule from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • Adult and geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, cardiac, and acute on chronic medical conditions
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6
  • Unit has 40 beds
  • Use of Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed / chair alarms, Omnicel drug dispensing cabinet, and Zoll defibrillators
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is Medhost
  • Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
  • Required to work four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule
  • Care for a variety of patients, including those with cardiac, orthopedic, renal, GI, and withdrawal management needs
  • Scrub color requirement is black top and bottom; open shoes are not permitted
  • Twice per contract, scheduled shifts may be flexed to on-call status as needed
  • Charge and preceptor experience is a plus
  • Positive, compassionate demeanor is valued
  • First time travelers will be considered
  • Submission requires resume, candidate self-assessment, skills checklist, licensure verification, and COVID card

  • Active AZ or compact RN license
  • Minimum two years of RN experience, with recent acute care and telemetry experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Ability to manage a 6-patient assignment
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Date of birth and Social Security Number are required for consideration
  • Must not live within 60 miles of the facility
  • No permanent staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
  • RQI certifications are not accepted
