Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Control
- Develop, maintain, and report on project and program scopes, schedules, and milestones.
- Collaborate closely with the site project management team throughout the project lifecycle-from planning through closeout.
- Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate ongoing projects for schedule and budget efficiencies.
- Document key data points to support field coordination.
- Contribute to the development of project management best practices, coordinate SOPs / SIPs with vendors, and support the creation of global and regional standards.
- Capture and document lessons learned with internal and external cross-functional partners.
- Forecasting
- Support the project controls team with forecasting and budgeting activities.
- Communicate current project status to upstream and downstream partners to ensure seamless handoffs.
- Technical Reviews
- Define milestones for equipment procurement and monitor progress.
- Assist in contractor selection and review for structured cabling work within data centers.
- Metrics Reporting
- Provide regular updates on project progress and risk assessments to key stakeholders.
- Workflow Management
- Partner with installation teams to define and track project milestones.
- Lead pre-project planning, manage handoffs, and ensure timely design delivery and verification.
- Identify and escalate project risks and high-priority issues.
- Manage change order requests effectively.
- Vendor Field Management
- Oversee connectivity activities during construction and site projects.
- Monitor and report progress against schedule expectations.
- Set clear expectations, foster strong relationships with installation partners, and promote a safe, collaborative work environment.
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct physical inspections to ensure vendor work meets quality standards throughout the data center lifecycle.
- Validate installations, test reports, build accuracy, material compliance, and adherence to local codes.
- Technical Field Lead
- Lead product evaluation, design, and installation methods in the field.
- Manage scope clarification, design and installation details, and the Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Technical Coordination
- Resolve in-field scope gaps or design conflicts.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams on design reviews, BOM assessments, and as-built drawing validations.
- Cross-Functional Communication
- Coordinate with construction partners to meet deliverables during new builds and retrofits.
- Work with logistics, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth material flow.
- Communicate progress, risks, and initiatives to stakeholders.
- Safety Oversight
- Ensure vendor compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Promote a "safety-first" culture and encourage open communication around EHS practices.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in project managementProven ability to engage and guide stakeholdersExperience resolving construction-related challengesProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS ProjectPreferred Qualifications
Experience leading installations based on design documents and specificationsExperience in data center development or construction managementFamiliarity with Primavera P6Experience managing IT or IP network deployment projects in mission-critical environmentsExpertise in network / structured cabling infrastructure deploymentsExperience with fiber optic testing and complex troubleshootingKnowledge of outside plant cabling (OSP) and OTDR / OLTS testingExperience in QA / QC processes, including progressive inspections and acceptancePay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00 / hr.
