Job purpose
Sell plastic injection-molded components to the automotive industry by developing new business, building client relationships, and providing technical consultation on material selection, tooling, and design for manufacturability. We have 2 locations Emporia, VA and Dallas, NC. Candidate will work out of one of those location, but handle sales for both locations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for plastic injection molding in the automotive sector.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Generate leads through networking and attending trade shows.
- Educate clients on the benefits and process of plastic injection molding.
- Partner with project engineers to advise customers on material selection, tooling, and design for manufacturability.
- Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce accurate quotes and technical proposals.
- Understand customer needs and target pricing for projects.
- Gather market trends and key sales metrics to report to leadership.
- Support clients with post-sales activities and address any issues.
- Communicate customer feedback to internal department for product and process improvements.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a related field.Experience
Proven sales experience, preferably in the automotive plastics industry or with injection molding.A strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and tooling.Experience in sales development, from identifying opportunities to closing deals.Soft skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients.Ability to provide technical consultation and solutions.Negotiation skills for pricing and contracts.A good understanding of the automotive industry’s specific needs and requirements.
