Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a System Administrator or Senior to join our Information Technology team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Responsibilities
Under supervision System Administrators analyze, install, configure, upgrade, test, document, monitor and maintain software and hardware in support of business processing requirements. Supported systems may include operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, web servers, application servers, Integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems. Provides technical support for problems not resolved by the Integrated Operations Center or IT Service Desk.
Senior System Administrators will also participate in the development and execution of technology strategies to support organizational activities and direction. They provide advanced level support for systems, including troubleshooting, performance, monitoring, cost-benefit, security, and licensing analysis. They also stay aware of industry trends, business requirements, and technical design methodologies to aid in the development of creative / innovative IT / OT solutions.
This Systems Administrator or Senior will operate as part of a small group which focuses on the delivery of deeper technical needs supporting specific Regional and Fleet operations activities. This position will be a primary administrator where needed of technology solutions currently owned and supported by fleet and regions but not currently supported by IT. This role requires region-specific software technology expertise, and any and all integrations within, and is responsible for the discovery and familiarization with any others not currently known by the IT department in close partnership with regional and fleet stakeholders. This individual is responsible for being up to date on current Enterprise Technology Portfolio efforts and status and is able to speak to and evangelize the value of efforts to field personnel. They will be the primary technical contact for all field personnel for all Microsoft M365 and AI initiatives which reach the field.

This position requires working at a desk / computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. Additional Information
Works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge. Solves a range of straightforward problems, analyzes viable solutions, and assesses each using standard procedures. Senior will also have a more in-depth technical knowledge in own discipline. They will have more experience with project management skills and be proficient with time management and being able to manage multiple projects at once. All levels participate in 24x7 on call rotation. Position may be required to travel up to 20% of the time throughout the service territory.
