Responsibilities Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting Patient population includes critically ill cardiac and surgical patients Target patient ratio is 1 : 2 on a 36-bed unit Role involves telemetry, drips, ventilators, arterial lines, sheaths, and dialysis, including ABG draws Uses Epic EMR; experience required Night shift schedule : four 12-hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30), 36 or 48 hours per week Floating required to other campuses within a short distance, and first to float at the facility's discretion Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday (including Christmas Eve / Day and New Year's Eve / Day) Navy blue scrubs required Main duties include caring for complex cardiovascular ICU patients and operating specialized equipment First time travelers are welcome to apply Request all time off (RTO) at application; no RTO changes after offer and approval is at management's discretion Travelers must live at least 50 miles away; local candidates not accepted May be required to complete up to 24 hours of online modules during orientation, self-reported to the manager Facility may cancel up to two shifts per 13-week contract due to low census Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives Holiday coverage required as per contract Requirements Active RN license (OH or compact); any state license accepted if obtained before start BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required Minimum of 1 year dedicated CVICU RN experience required Must pass a tele / ECG competency assessment before start and be able to read and interpret rhythms Experience with arterial lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABGs required Epic EMR experience required No previous license action accepted Level 1 trauma experience preferred Travel nursing experience preferred but not required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621566.
