Senior Designer Job at ESPN in Bristol

Overview Senior Designer role at ESPN Creative Studio (Visual Storytelling). The team designs and produces graphics, editorial design, photography, and data visualization for ESPN across TV, digital, and live events. The role focuses on creating, evolving, and maintaining ESPN’s world-class brand system across internal and external touchpoints.

This role requires outstanding visual design skills and a digital design mindset, with the ability to analyze, adapt, and work iteratively to meet business needs. Collaboration with Production, Streaming, Marketing, Editorial, Social, and Product teams is essential to maintain high standards of creativity across initiatives.

Responsibilities Design : Deep knowledge of graphic design, motion graphics, animation principles, typography, composition, and hierarchy.

Lead : Proactively lead projects from concept to final deliverables, simplifying workflows.

Scale : Define, evaluate, and develop a design system and workflows that fuel creativity across linear, digital, streaming, and Marketing touchpoints for long-term success.

Collaborate : Maintain high standards of quality, communication, and collaboration with diverse teams and disciplines.

Curiosity : Understand the why behind work; be proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable, simplifying complex problems.

Analyze : Explore ambiguous problems, identify gaps and opportunities through research.

Iterate : Source and incorporate stakeholder and user feedback to refine designs.

Basic Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience in a creative studio or media organization.

Deep knowledge of graphic design, motion graphics, animation principles, typography, composition, and hierarchy.

Experience implementing design at scale and promoting efficient workflows.

Ability to lead projects that align with ESPN’s brand DNA across creative and business pillars.

Experience in design system development at scale within a large business.

Understanding of live productions and insert packages to develop an industry-leading design system.

Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines with clear communication.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication and storytelling skills.

Willing to be mentored and open to giving / receiving constructive feedback.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Asana (or similar tools), and Smartsheet.

Strong portfolio showing diverse design, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in design for live productions, streaming, and digital.

Advanced knowledge of digital design.

Knowledge of After Effects and / or Cinema 4D.

High level of expertise in Figma.

Passion for sports.
