SUMMARY
The Plant Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company product line. This position works closely with members of the marketing department, sales, sales support and operations to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals. The Plant Manager is also responsible for adhering to and promoting the company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team leader and supports the continued growth of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following :
Plan and manage production schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery of customer orders.
Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
Keen understanding of the ERP system.
Complete shipping information and delivery date input.
Complete all Accounts Payable information in a timely manner.
Order floor stock with shelf-life material for production.
Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.
Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary
Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Ensure training expectations are met for safety training, HACCP and GMP Standards.
Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety, product quality or integrity.
Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job. Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process.
Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing process and design issues as well as machine capabilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position manages all employees of the unit location and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.
TRAVEL
This position will be required to travel to our current customers every 1-2 months. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
VERBAL / WRITTEN SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, customer specifications, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
INFORMATION SYSTEM SKILLS
Ability to use or acquire research skills in order to obtain the information needed to complete tasks. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with capacity to learn and adapt to new software systems quickly.
REASONING / DECISION MAKING SKILLS
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Responsible for technical understanding of job specific decisions.

Specific vision requirements for this job include : close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Adherence to all safety requirements is a must.
