This position is located at the Greenville Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Branch Office in Greenville, SC. Responsibilities of a License Examiner II include administering road test examinations in various classes of vehicles, determining applicant's physical and mental fitness and competency to safely operate motor vehicles, and performing pre-trip inspections on vehicles. The position also involves answering customer inquiries, greeting and directing customers, collecting fees, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Working conditions include road tests conducted in various weather conditions, sitting and standing for prolonged periods, and exposure to warm or cold temperatures and processing chemicals.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and relevant experience. Agency requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid South Carolina driver's license, and one year of driving experience. Additional requirements include the ability to communicate professionally, thorough knowledge of driver licensing eligibility, and completion of a formal CDL test examiner trainer course.
