Overview
The University of Virginia Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) — Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) — to join our Rhinology team within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. The APP will work alongside two rhinology specialists and will be integral in the care for adult and pediatric otolaryngology patients. Our rhinology team provides evaluation, diagnosis, management and treatment of diseases of the nose and sinuses, including chronic and recurrent sinusitis, nasal polyps, rhinitis, allergy, epistaxis, smell and taste disorders, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, pituitary and skull base surgery, and tumors of the nose and sinuses.
This is a clinical position that includes both independent and team-based care with a pathway toward increased autonomy based on training, experience, and clinical competency. The successful applicant will be interested in working both independently and collaborating closely with attending physicians to evaluate and manage patients in an ambulatory setting as well as coordinating multidisciplinary care with colleagues in ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and other specialties as needed. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in complex diseases of the nose and sinuses and skull base conditions within an academic and supportive environment.
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care at an advanced practice level to patients and their families through assessment, communication, clinical management, collaboration, coordination, education, program development, research, quality, professional development, and system participation.
