As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Control in Parlin, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical / Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a chemical and petrochemical location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols, and remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with visitors and team members, providing excellent customer service and clear communication. Position Type : Full Time

Pay Rate : $18.93 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Monday to Friday 08 : 00 AM - 04 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying the credentials of individuals entering and exiting to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents in and around the premises, particularly in chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter security-related threats.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to access control and emergency response.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as appropriate according to Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Provide customer service to all personnel and visitors by answering questions and assisting with security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of access control activities and any incidents that occur during the shift.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
