Position Highlights
This department is a fast paced, team work environment working with variety of patients at different points in the surgery care process. Position hours are day / evening hours with weeknight, weekend, and holiday call shifts. This position works in the Avera McKennan main hospital PrePost / PACU area working to prep inpatients and outpatients for a variety of procedures and recovering them in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. It also includes discharging same day surgical patients. We work closely with the Anesthesia and OR departments as well as the surgeons.
Ability to utilize a wide variety of nursing skills including cardiac monitoring, pre op and post op assessment / care, assisting the Anesthesiologist with epidural and peripheral nerve blocks.
Flexibility of shifts including a combination of 8 and 12 hours shifts.
Opportunity to work in collaboration with surgery, GI and anesthesia team.
