A day in the life of an office manager - outpatient clinic involves opening the office of our outpatient clinic and ensuring its smooth running. You make sure that the patients are seen in a timely manner, the mail is processed, the inventory is kept up to date, and that all policies and procedures are closely followed. Competent supervisors assist in your daily duties, and you work with them to establish clear objectives for the office. You feel confident delegating your authority to your team leads and they are eager to implement any feedback you offer. Maintaining a fully staffed office is also a priority, and so some of your time is spent assisting in interviews and training. Throughout the day, your extensive knowledge about medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies is called upon, as is your experience with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and your expertise with CPT and ICD-9 coding. You are happy to provide answers to any questions that arise. You enjoy interacting with our excellent personnel and feel great that everything runs well. Qualifications for an office manager - outpatient clinic include a bachelor's degree, preferably with coursework in health care administration, 3+ years of administrative experience, 1+ years of management experience in health care, certified medical practice executive (CMPE) OR Florida licensed registered nurse (RN), and high proficiency in computer applications and written communication. Are you adept at leading and inspiring others? Do you have the ability to see the whole picture and to make goals according to that vision? Can you manage your time well in a fast-paced environment?
