Job Title

Web Developer, PHP (W2 Contractor Only)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Web Developer with strong front‑end and CMS experience to manage and enhance our digital portfolio. This role will be embedded within the development team and will take ownership of our WordPress‑based web properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance websites using WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Customize themes and plugins to meet internal requirements.
  • Ensure responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and implement updates.
  • Manage content updates and CMS workflows.
  • Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Hands‑on experience with WordPress CMS (custom themes, plugins, admin configuration).
  • Experience with WCAG accessibility standards (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO best practices, and performance optimization (preferred).
  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Basic knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases.
  • WordPress Developer Certification (e.g., WP Elevation, Yoast Academy).
  • Front‑End Web Developer Certification (e.g., FreeCodeCamp, Coursera, or W3C).
