Join a dynamic, ENR Magazine Top 150 design firm providing engineering services for a diverse portfolio of projects for public agencies including the US Army Corps of Engineers, TxDOT, Harris County Flood Control District, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and various cities and counties across Texas. Huitt-Zollars Inc. seeks an experienced drainage engineer for an immediate full-time role in Houston. Preference is given to licensed engineers in Texas with at least 5 years of experience, particularly in the Houston area. The role involves collaborating within a team to provide drainage analysis, modeling, and design for public infrastructure and transportation projects.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using tools such as HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting.
• Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for incorporation into design and construction drawings.
• Oversee the production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation.
• Manage data and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Mentor EIT staff on hydrologic and hydraulic concepts and practices.
• Conduct site visits and document findings.
• Prepare and coordinate graphic materials for presentations and documents.
