About the Position
The registered nurse in the Immunization Clinics of Immunizations and Vaccine Equity provides direct immunization services to children and adults, providing immunizations to help prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases. The registered nurse may also occasionally provide immunization services at community locations such as schools, Faith-based organizations, and community centers.

Job Contributions
Provides immunizations to children in high-volume (100+ clients per 8-9-hour clinic) clinics in various locations throughout Maricopa County. This includes, but is not limited to, screening immunization records, the Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS), and medical / school records to determine vaccines needed; administering vaccines; and providing education to parents on needed follow-up.
Assists in the opening and closing of clinical operations for both fixed immunization clinics and community-based events
Maintains clear and accurate documentation of activities through nurse's notes, reporting forms, consent forms, and computer databases
Collaborates with community agencies and other county, state, and federal agencies regarding urgent or noteworthy events in immunizations, communicable diseases, and other events in public health
Provides education and proof of administered immunizations to clients
Staff community outreach immunization clinics when needed
Working Conditions
The employee in this position must be able to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly. This position requires walking and / or standing to a significant degree. Work is performed in an office or administrative environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work performed requires the use of a computer and the ability to research information on the Arizona State Immunization Information System. The employee may need to wear a mask occasionally when carrying out the job duties.
