Duties

Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and settlement agreements

Conduct legal research and analysis for case preparation

Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials

Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of issues in personal injury and workers' compensation law

Communicate regularly with clients, legal assistants, judges, and opposing counsel

Maintain accurate and organized client files for internal collaboration and case tracking

Requirements

Admission to the South Dakota State Bar (required)

Admission to the Iowa Bar is a plus

Experience in litigation or relevant practice areas

Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and independently manage responsibilities

Commitment to delivering high-quality legal service

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

Active license to practice law in South Dakota

Additional bar admission in Iowa is advantageous

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Legal research and drafting proficiency

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Organizational skills and attention to detail

Spanish language proficiency is a plus
