About The Position
Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Certifications : Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required
Must-Have : State Licensure required - Texas : MRT by TMBBLS required (AHA only)
Description :
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures.
They will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed.
The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow.
Demonstration of flexibility by working other shifts and / or at different campuses as needed or required is expected.
The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.
Participation in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure is required.
The technologists will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management.
They must observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures.
Maintaining radiation safety protocol while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department is essential.
Daily logs and periodic tests must be completed as required by the license.
Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities include meeting expectations of applicable competencies.
The technologist must demonstrate adherence to core values.
Maintaining consistency with administrative and departmental policies is required.
Promoting staff growth, development, and employee engagement is expected.
Exceptional physician satisfaction must be promoted by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
Duties must be performed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary.
Adaptations in assigned patient assessment, treatment, and / or care methods should be made to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served.
Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by regulatory entities is critical.
Examinations / procedures must be performed as needed to assist in patient throughput.
Flexibility by working other shifts and at different campuses as needed is required.
Ensured completion of exams correctly scanned and stored in PACS.
Following PACS downtime procedures as a PACS superuser and escalating any problems or issues to the PACS administrator or designee if needed is necessary.
Troubleshooting and reporting any equipment malfunctions to the Director / Manager and / or Biomedical personnel is expected.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
