About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Must-Have :

• Experience caring for post-op surgical patients, especially in Orthopedics and Gastrointestinal surgeries.
• Familiarity with wound vacs and orthopedic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.

Description :

This is a busy, fast-paced medical-surgical unit.

The unit cares for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients.

It usually receives 10-20 post-operative patients per day.

Nursing requirements include both medical and surgical skillsets.

Nurses must possess BLS and ACLS certifications.

The unit includes cardiac and oxygen monitoring capabilities.

Nurses will float to other units within their skillset.

Patient ratios for days and nights are typically 5 : 1.

There may be high turnover rates with multiple admissions and discharges per shift.

This position does not guarantee block scheduling.

Self-scheduling is allowed, with final approval from management.

Interdisciplinary support is available from various allied healthcare professionals.

Nurses will work with a diverse range of patient diagnoses predominantly consisting of post-operative care.

Candidates must be comfortable in a high-paced environment.

Floating to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required.

References from charge nurses or supervisors are required.

Experience with telemetry and vital sign monitoring is essential.
