IT Support Specialist Location : Mineral Wells, TX 76067 (Onsite) Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm Type : Long-Term Contract About the Opportunity We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to deliver hands-on technical support and ensure reliable system operations. This position is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software, supporting end-users, maintaining network security, and assisting with ongoing technology projects. You will play a key role in keeping systems secure, training users, and contributing to organization-wide IT initiatives. What You’ll Do Provide end-user support via phone, email, in person, and remote connections. Monitor helpdesk tickets, minimize downtime, and coordinate with vendors when repairs or escalations are required. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, peripherals, and hardware. Monitor and support network security, mobile devices, printers, and audiovisual equipment. Create and maintain documentation for solutions and processes. Provide training on IT best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and system use. Assist with updates, patches, and system backups. Maintain hardware and software inventory and support license management. Ensure adherence to IT security standards and best practices. Collaborate with IT staff on system upgrades, new software implementations, and special projects. Provide occasional after-hours support as needed. What You Bring Knowledge of Windows, Mac, Chrome, and iOS operating systems Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP / IP, and networking fundamentals Experience with Microsoft 365 administration Understanding of IT service desk best practices (ITIL helpful) Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and user issues Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs; bend, crouch, kneel, and occasionally climb ladders Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Work primarily in an office-based, climate-controlled environment Qualifications Minimum : High school diploma or GED Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record 1+ year of IT support or helpdesk experience Preferred : Associate’s degree and / or technical certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft) Experience in public sector, education, or other large-scale IT environments If you enjoy solving problems, supporting end-users, and working with a variety of IT systems, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills while making a direct impact.
