JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Project Manager is a working supervisor responsible for both leading a team of Project Managers but also overseeing new home construction projects from conception to completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise and support a team of Project Managers across multiple construction projects
- Provide training, coaching, and professional development to enhance team growth
- Lead weekly meetings to review project status and address challenges
- Serve as a resource for Project Managers in resolving complex project issues
- Step in to assist with high-priority or at-risk projects when needed
- Set clear expectations and performance goals for Project Managers
- Conduct quarterly conversations and annual performance evaluations for Project Managers
Project Management
Actively manage assigned projects from pre-construction through closeoutParticipate in interview preparations for negotiated bids and writing bid scopesMonitor schedules, budgets, safety, and quality standards of projectsManage and ensure project materials are on site at the appropriate timesMaintain proper construction workflows and accounting practicesInspect all work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and local building codesCommunicate and coordinate with clients, construction workers, and subcontractorsEDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related discipline preferred5+ years of new home construction project management experienceStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage both people and projects effectivelyDeep understanding of home building process, industry standards, building codes, and safety standardsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifiedAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with project team and stakeholdersExcellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Builder TrendStrong analytical, time management, and conflict resolution skillsHigh level of professionalismPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the project jobsite exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee must be able to walk around the jobsite and navigate various terrain and work areas under construction. Must have the physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Employee will be required to always wear protective safety equipment while walking the jobsite.
