Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU / Peds position requiring EPIC experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital setting within the Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Advanced Care, and Pediatric Med / Surg units
  • Day shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Care provided to pediatric, PICU, and pediatric med / surg patient populations
  • Utilizes EPIC EMR for all charting requirements
  • Position does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
  • Collaborate closely with Pediatric Intensivists, Pediatric Hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Responsibilities include initial assessments, developing and evaluating care plans, administering medications, monitoring intake and output, and starting IVs
  • Must serve as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect
  • Outstanding communication required with patients and families through hourly rounding and bedside reports
  • Dress code and scrub color requirements apply per hospital policy
  • No travel partners accepted for this assignment
  • Candidates must provide at least 30 days' notice to cancel after assignment begins
  • Rotating holiday coverage may be required
  • Time off (RTO) may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Maximum one-year assignment duration; 30-60 day break required before return

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois state RN license or temporary license in good standing
  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from American Heart Association
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Previous experience in Level 1 Trauma hospital required
  • EPIC charting experience required
