About The Position

Must-Have :

• Previous Charge and Teaching Hospital Experience preferred
• Must be able to float between departments and units as needed
• Weekend availability required : 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week period

Description :

The position available is for a registered nurse in a progressive care unit (PCU) setting.

The role involves working three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Ratios for patient care are set at 1 : 5.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant setting.

Previous charge experience and teaching hospital experience are preferred but not required.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Holiday shifts and charge assignments may be required as necessary.

Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Essential skills include management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and emergency response.

Experience with cardiovascular patients, including post-cardiac interventions and pre / post-operative care, is necessary.

Knowledge and skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration are also required.

Candidates should be prepared to manage a variety of patient demographics, including adults and geriatrics.

Regular floating may be expected, and the ability to accommodate scheduling needs is essential.

Local candidates are welcome, but a specific distance requirement applies.

References from previous employment in the last year are required.

Drug screening will be conducted, and results must be cleared to proceed with the assignment.

Modules related to compliance will need to be completed as part of the role.

This position requires dedication and the ability to adapt to different patient needs and unit demands.
