Staff Database Platform Engineer

A company is looking for a Staff Database Platform Engineer to lead the evolution of database management in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Design automation and self-service frameworks for provisioning, scaling, and securing databases across AWS

Ensure availability, performance, and security of existing large-scale monolithic databases while preparing them for migration

Collaborate with product teams on schema design, query optimization, and provide tools for database management

Required Qualifications

10 years of experience in database reliability, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles

Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools (Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI / CD)

Proficiency with cloud-managed relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and cloud-native databases (DynamoDB)

Experience in modernizing and migrating legacy databases

Hands-on experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
