Salary and Benefits

About the Position
Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of Direct Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The individual in this position will perform specialized support services as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position may assist in carrying out assigned nursing tasks and activities, promote student safety and well-being, reinforce classroom programs, and maintain documentation records. Currently, this specific, part-time LPN position will be assigned to provide health services to an individual student with significant health, physical, and educational needs. The student will be in a classroom setting with licensed special education staff. The LPN will follow delegated tasks assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Essential Functions
Work with a health aide to maintain and update manual and computerized files and records of student health information, including immunization records, and updates on health concerns.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-directed, ability to work without direct supervision and prioritize workload to assure efficient / quality support to staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications
Current First Aid / CPR / AED card, epinephrine and glucagon certificates, or ability to obtain certificates in at least thirty (30) days of start date.
