Position Title : Senior Manager - Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Overview
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing and advancing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives across multiple operational sites, with direct accountability for the location where the manager is based. The position plays a key role in shaping and executing strategic EHS plans that align with broader organizational goals, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of safety excellence.
The Senior Manager will collaborate with senior leadership to integrate EHS priorities into business operations, support site-level EHS teams, and drive continuous improvement. This role also serves as a connector between corporate EHS strategy and local execution, helping to build a resilient, high-performing workforce and safety-first mindset.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic guidance on EHS matters.
- Serve as the central coordinator for EHS communications and initiatives across supported sites.
- Lead the deployment of EHS strategies and programs in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor execution of EHS plans and measure performance against key indicators.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to site-level EHS personnel.
- Advise operational leaders on regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Participate in global EHS networks and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a unified approach to safety and performance.
- Use data and analytics to inform decisions and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Champion change management efforts and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Lead or support EHS-related projects that address business needs.
- Stay informed on evolving regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Coach managers on EHS leadership and employee engagement strategies.
Qualifications
Education
Required : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Business, Science, or a related disciplinePreferred : Master's degree in a relevant fieldExperience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in EHS or related functionsAt least 3 years in a matrixed organizational structureMinimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial roleExperience in dynamic, fast-paced environments undergoing growth or transformation is a plusSkills and Competencies
Strong understanding of global EHS regulations and workforce safety practicesProven ability to build trust and act as a strategic advisor to leadershipExperience in workforce planning, organizational design, and data-driven decision-makingProficiency in enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI, SharePoint)Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skillsAbility to lead and communicate effectively across diverse teams and culturesSkilled in influencing stakeholders without direct authorityFamiliarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)Commitment to upholding safety and quality standardsCertifications
