Data Engineer I, Launch Program 2026 - St. Louis, MO

This role is not eligible for Mastercard's work authorization sponsorship. About the Team

The Customer Intelligence Data Engineering team is responsible for curating data and designing critical customer data visualizations and insights to our internal and external stakeholders. The team owns customer interaction data across the globe, partnering with stakeholders including Global Customer Delivery & Care, Finance, and others to ensure data is managed in an efficient and compliant manner. Our data includes contact center activity, workforce management metrics, training outcomes, and many other data sources. We leverage this information to build dynamic BI dashboards and automated reports that deliver critical insights, enabling smarter and more strategic business decisions.

Launch Program

The Launch program is a development program that is supplemental to the role and is designed to help you transition from being a student to being a Mastercard employee. In this program, you will participate in :

Four-day orientation focused on getting to know Mastercard, building your skills, and be a force for good (Mastercard's culture)

Professional skills workshops

Launch Innovation Week

Social impact - pro bono team challenge

Global Volunteer Challenge

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree graduating Spring 2026.

A strong focus and interest in technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related field)

Strong, hands-on experience with SQL in previous internship

Previous experience with Cloud computing, AWS, or Azure

Experience creating dashboards, using Data Visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo

Databricks understanding

Problem solver, experience in academic competitions such as Hackathons or Capture the Flag events

Python is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Excellent communication skills, ability and willingness to tackle complex problems

Salary : $96,000

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
