Job Title : Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, dismantling machines, replacing defective parts, and modifying equipment. This role requires you to ensure efficient operation by reassembling machines and making necessary adjustments. You will also conduct routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and company vehicles, perform safety inspections, and suggest improvements for increased productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical trouble in machines.
  • Dismantle machines and replace defective parts.
  • Rebuild or modify equipment, including power transmissions, chain and belt drives, cams, bearings, motor control circuits, drives, and PLC systems.
  • Reassemble machines and adjust for efficient operation.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintain company fleet vehicles, performing oil changes, brake replacements, and minor repairs.
  • Facilitate external repairs for issues beyond personal skills.
  • Perform equipment upgrades and changes as needed.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on forklifts and other equipment.
  • Repair or replace broken or worn parts.
  • Suggest improvements for maintenance and machine productivity.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Experience with motors.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A 2-year technical degree in electricity or electronics or a trade school qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum two years of maintenance experience in diagnosing and repairing large manufacturing equipment, preferably in welding and heavy fabrication environments.
  • One year of experience troubleshooting PLCs is preferred.
  • Proficiency in building maintenance and HVAC.

    Work Environment

    Join a large equipment manufacturing shop operating from 5 : 00am to 5 : 30pm, Monday to Friday, and 5 : 00am to 11 : 00am on Saturdays. The standard working hours are 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm. Currently, employees are working 50-55 hours due to high demand, with plans to reduce overtime by expanding the team.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $63000.00 / yr.

    Benefits include competitive pay, health, dental and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(K) with company match.
