About the Role

The Janitorial Technician is responsible for dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, grooming, trash removal, cleaning and sanitizing areas that include but are not limited to bathrooms, common areas, elevators, stairwells, furniture, windows, and floor surfaces. This individual should be friendly, professional, and have strong attention to detail. This position will support the facility from 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00PM.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and maintaining designated spaces inside of the facility daily, which includes the lobby, restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and conference rooms.
  • Maintaining all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
  • Monitoring and reporting necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
  • Reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.
  • Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
  • Responding efficiently to urgent requests such as spillages, so that safety is restored in a timely manner.
  • Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and / or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
  • Operating mechanized cleaning equipment.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Assisting guests when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a housekeeper or within a similar cleaning environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials.
  • Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Normal periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching in an office environment.
  • Extended period of standing.
  • Lifting and / or pushing objects up to 25 - 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
