Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care Family Birthing Center with CA RN license and advanced perinatal certifications required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care Family Birthing Center covering Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby units
  • 13 Labor & Delivery beds, 9 Mother Baby beds, and 2 OR suites
  • Handle standard and high-risk labor and delivery cases and triage OB patients 20 weeks or greater
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 2 in L&D and 1 : 4 in Mother Baby
  • Requires ability to circulate C-sections
  • Night shifts, 12 hours in length, with every other weekend required
  • First to float; may float to Mother Baby or Level 1 Nursery if qualified
  • Charting is completed using Cerner EMR
  • No call requirement for travelers
  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including support for high-risk births and surgical circulation for C-sections
  • Unit performs approximately 90-100 births per month
  • OB physicians and anesthesia staff are onsite 24 / 7
  • Orientation consists of 2-3 unit-based shifts depending on experience
  • Travelers are scheduled to work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); holiday time off is considered but not guaranteed
  • Scrub uniforms are provided
  • Medical or religious COVID-19 vaccination declination is accepted as specified

  • Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
  • Valid certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
  • Ability to circulate C-sections required
  • Cannot have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, in the past year (PRN via outside firms is allowed)
  • Submission must include a copy of driver's license and two supervisory references (one from the last 12 months, one from the last 3 years)
