The Position
Lead and manage Emerging Technologies (ET) / Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) production site in Petersburg, VA to meet or exceed product supply short- and long-term objectives for production, quality, and financial results according to regulatory requirements, the Triple Bottom Line, and the Novo Nordisk Way of Management. This position will provide operational and strategic leadership, with responsibility for directing and overseeing the development, planning, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing and quality methods, processes, facilities, and operations for products and technologies within ET API. This role will also oversee production planning, schedules, materials, equipment, and labor resource requirements relating to the production and distribution of relevant products.
A high level of innovation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is expected to continuously improve processes and achieve enhanced operational efficiency for the production and release of products manufactured. Ability to drive and succeed with current business while leading change with a growth mindset.
Additionally, this role is responsible for managing external relations with local and state government and other public sector groups, ensuring the best interests of the organization are represented in the course of public decision-making and that the organization has an excellent reputation and engagement in the community.
Relationships
Reports to Corporate Vice President, ET API Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) & Quality Control (QC).
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel 20-30% of the time, to include international and domestic trips. Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.
Development of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
